Accommodation
Designed to blend unobtrusively with its idyllic beachfront setting and to reflect the influence of the local culture and coastal architecture, the accommodation consists of 9 spacious sea front cottages set along the high-water line and eight sea view cottages, all constructed of stone and thatch with large netted windows open to the balmy sea breezes.

Each of the individually designed rooms has a hand carved king-sized four-poster bed and is furnished with local wooden artefacts and colourful fabrics. Beachfront cottages additionally have a jacuzzi with spectacular sea view!

All cottages are provided with fans, safes and beach accessories in the oversized bathroom. In front of each cottage is a private sitting area where guests can enjoy a drink and watch the sun go down in total privacy.

Restaurants & Bars
The main building at Funzi Keys houses the dhow-shaped bar area where you can enjoy exotic drinks, and the dining are where you can feast on locally grown produce and freshly caught seafood.

The main dining area is on the upper level and offers beautiful views over the water as you dine.

Activities
Life at The Funzi Keys is relaxed and many guests do little more than unwind on the Mazeras stone deck of the 45m free-form pool with a drink while watching the local fishing dhows sail by.

For more energetic guests it is possible to enjoy sailing, creekfishing, windsurfing and canoeing or perhaps take a boat trip up the Ramisi River or Funzi Creek for an unforgettable glimpse of kingfishers, crocodiles and even dolphins!

The hotel is an excellent base for deep-sea fishing and scuba diving in the Pemba Channel, which can be arranged and paid for locally.

The Funzi Farm
Proper animal welfare and a natural vegetable garden. From considerate animal husbandry – adopted from the Masai – to solar energy and an ecological sewage system, the whole island is committed to sustainability. Funzi is a shining example of soft tourism.

On more than 10 acres a new mango plantation is being raised and on a further 150 acres young Casuarina-, Arborea- and Eucalyptus trees are growing.

Chickens, pigs and cattle on the organically run farm are fed without the addition of antibiotics and hormones. And in the carefully laid out herb and vegetable garden only natural products are harvested. No wonder the delicacies conjured up on your plate are so tasty.
